New Hampshire Utility and Heating Bill Assistance Programs

Fuel Assistance Program
The Fuel Assistance Program will provides aid and benefits to New Hampshire families to assist them with paying heating costs. Both homeowners and renters are eligible for aid from the the Fuel Assistance Program.

New Hampshire Electric Assistance Program
Qualifying customers can receive a discount on their monthly electric bill. The utility bill discounts provided will range anywhere from 5 to 70%. read more on the electric assistance program.

Free Home Heating Oil
Citizens Energy offers a program called Oil Heat that provides free heating oil to New Hampshire families in need of help with winter heating bills.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors
New Hampshire's regulated utility companies are part of this fuel fund that is managed by local community action agencies in coordination with LIHEAP. It is a "last resort" assistance program that operates year round, and it will help households after other aid, such as LIHEAP, is exhausted.

Emergency Assistance Program
New Hampshire Housing offers a small Emergency Housing Program that was created to help eligible households with short term grants and assistance for making rental payments, mortgage payments, or helping with utility bills when local municipalities are not able to offer any other assistance. Participants must be in imminent danger of losing their shelter and/or facing an eviction due to financial hardship.
